Little League Bat Rules

Victorian Summer Baseball League

Played under the Victorian Summer Baseball League (VSBL), Summer Baseball is managed by Baseball Victoria (as opposed to Winter which is run by different Leagues / Associations).

Senior Baseball: 

Played in Divisions and the competition is (mostly) a Sunday afternoon:

  • Division 1 – firsts, seconds, thirds, fourths
  • Division 2 – firsts, seconds, thirds, fourths
  • Division 3 – firsts, seconds
  • Division 4 – north, south, east, west

Masters Competition:

  • Masters 38+ (east, south, north west)
  • Masters 45+

Women’s Competition:

  • Division 1
  • Division¬†2
  • Division 3 (east & west)

Junior Baseball is divided into:

  • Little League: This is managed by Charters, the Mornington Baseball Club is part of the Southern Mariners Charter
    Little League Rookie Ball – Friday night (beginners/first season age 8-12)
    Little League Minor – Sunday Morning (next step before major age 8-12)
    Little League Major – Sunday Morning (more experienced players age 9-12)
    Intermediate League – Friday night (age 11-13)
    Junior League – Sunday Morning (age 12-14)
  • Senior League: Under 16 and Under 18 which both have a Metro and State competition run by Baseball Victoria

Junior Age Matrix

The Little League International age group cut-off for 2019/20 season is September 1.

The December 31 age cutoff only applies to the VSBL U16 and U18 competitions.
